The body changes over time with age, activity level, and injury. This means that our physical needs and pain levels change.
A Doctor of Physical Therapy is educated in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, disease progressions, and injury diagnosis throughout the lifespan. This diverse education allows a Physical Therapist to provide a comprehensive treatment program to include diagnosis of injury, correction of alignment, improvement in tissue mobility, and a guided strength program with one provider.
Establishing a relationship with a Physical Therapist, provides you with a Medical Professional that can assess and treat your body as it changes throughout your life. When you are sick, you see a Medical Doctor. But when your body hurts or you have an injury, you should go see your PT first. Everyone should be able to say, "That's my PT".
MyPT offers comprehensive treatment to all ages and ability levels. From injury recovery to sports performance improvement. Below is a list of what MyPT provides.
Biomechanical evaluation: assessment of movement patterns, compensations, muscle imbalances, flexibility, and movement restriction which may decrease your ability to move well or without pain.
Running Mechanics Evalocation and Training: Dr. Walls is a biomechanical running expert. She evaluates running mechanics, creates a customized program with exercises designed to improve mechanics, efficiency, and reduce risk of injury.
Ergonomic Assessment: examination of your work set up and daily postures which may increase pain. This includes recommendations on work set up as well as a treatment program.
Sports Assessment: Full body evaluation of strength, flexibility, and analysis of motion for runners, pitchers, golfers, and running and jumping athletes to decrease pain and/or improve performance. Education, treatment, and training on mechanics of motion are included as well. This training helps prepare patients for athletic activity at any level through impact training, core work to prevent injury and improve performance. Some aspects include shoulder health, jumping and landing mechanics and education on overuse injuries. This is an excellent opportunity to identify movement concerns in growing athletes to prevent injury when participating in year round sporting activities.
Dry Needling: An adjunctive treatment to other Physical Therapy techniques to decrease muscle tightness, improve pain, and increase mobility.
Custom Foot Orthotics: For people dealing with pain due to poor foot position, MyPT offers custom foot orthotics. This includes a complete biomechanical foot evaluation, physical examination, and customization of orthotic.
Manual Treatment: This is a broad category of treatment to include Deep Tissue Release, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, Joint mobilizations, and Manipulations.
Neuromuscular Re-Training: Cueing and instruction for creating improved movement by increasing activity of specific muscle groups, while inhibiting others to decrease compensations which result in pain long term.
Every Physical Therapy experience is different! Our body responds differently to varied treatment types and philosophies.
Did your therapist put their hands on you to assess your movement? Did they use a variety of techniques to encompass your whole body? Or did they focus only on exercise and "chase your pain".
Did you have the full attention of your PT? While Physical Therapy can't fix everything, finding the Right PT to evaluate your concerns thoroughly is critical to determining success with Physical Therapy.
With MyPT, your experience will be One on One care at all times with a Doctorate Level Trained Physical Therapist. The full attention of your therapist, allows for frequent assessment of results of techniques as well as for corrections throughout your movement.
You will also have access to your PT when you need it. Do you have a question after your session? You can contact your PT directly at any time. Your PT will respond as soon as they are able! Shana utilizes a broad range of manual, neuromuscular and strengthening techniques to address not only issues with mobility, but also stability.
It is our goal, with all patients at MyPT, to determine the root cause of pain and correct the "Why", instead of "chasing symptoms and pain" . With this targeted focus, we listen to your goals and create a treatment plan to achieve your best possible outcome. In addition, our roots in the community provide us with access to multiple professionals for outside referral to meet any needs that are beyond the Physical Therapy scope of care.
Shana and Cathy believe that an accurate diagnosis and education, empower patients to achieve these goals. Allowing them to be successful and function at the highest possible level throughout their life. Finding the Right PT for you, is the best recipe for success.
Everyone should be able to say, "That's MyPT."
Not taking insurance for Physical Therapy services, allows MyPT to provide you with the most comprehensive treatment plan to meet all of YOUR goals!
Have you ever had an experience with Physical Therapy where your provider spent the first 15 minutes with you and then you worked witho someone else? Or did they have other patients they were working with at the same time?
Insurance rules and regulations push clinicians to increase the number of patients seen and spread care to other staff with less training.
With MyPT, your care will be provided by a Physical Therapist at all times instead of Physical Therapy Aides or Assistants. Personalized care is One on One at ALL times, with the full attention and commitment from your therapist.
Do you have a chronic issue that keeps coming back? MyPT can offer Wellness/Preventative Care and Maintenance Care so you can continue to manage your chronic issues without time away from the activities you love. This type of care is NOT COVERED by insurance!
Utilizing regular and consistent care for your body, can help prevent more debilitating and costly injuries in the future!
Insurance also limits access to care for people with limitations in sport performance when they don't have a limitation to their daily lives.
MyPT has the flexibility to provide you with the care you need to achieve YOUR goals, and not the goals that insurance has deemed appropriate for you based on your age and medical history.
MyPT is considered “Out of Network” for all insurance plans.
Cost at MyPT is a flat rate fee for service payment structure. There are NO surprises when you get your bill!
Providers that accept insurance, bill based on the services provided in the session, so your cost may vary with each appointment. Additionally, the insurance may be billed on a monthly basis, so at times you may not know your cost until the end of the month. If you have a deductible or copay, that can be a scary bill to open!
MyPT allows you to know your costs up front!
Individualized care at MyPT with a dedicated Doctoral level provider, gives you the opportunity to reach your goals in fewer visits. Allowing you to return to the activities you love with the guidance you need.
You have access to your PT when you have questions outside of your appointment time and we will work together with your personal trainer or other coaches to provide continuous and consistent care.
Investing in care with MyPT, is an investment in yourself and your wellness.
Cost Comparison of In Network (high deductible) vs MyPT:
In today’s world of health insurance, >60% of people have health insurance plans with a high deductible. This means that the insurance doesn’t pay anything until the patient pays the deductible amount in full! This is even for “In Network” care!
For many, this can be more than $3000! If you are a generally healthy family, you may not reach your deductible each year, which means that you will pay the full cost of whatever care you receive.
In cases like these, using a cash based service, not only gives you more personalized care, but is also much more affordable!
EXAMPLE:
For this example, we will compare a typical Plan of Care at MyPT (10 visits). In Network costs will be presented as a “range” since all clinics have different costs.
Evaluation + 9 follow up visits (10 visits of Physical Therapy) total.
Insurance: In Network (“Covered”) Physical Therapy with Deductible of $3000/family member
- Evaluation (30-60 minutes) = $400- $750
- Each follow up visit. (30-45 minutes ) = $200-$450
- Total Out of Pocket costs to patient = $2,200 - $3000 for 5-10 hours of care
**If your deductible is higher, you would pay up to $4,800!
***Many plans of care in insurance based practices end up being 12-20 visits. Which means the cost is even greater!
MyPT costs:
- Evaluation + 9 follow up visits (60 minutes one-on-one ALWAYS) = $1500. TOTAL!
**Discounts available based on package pricing.
***Single visits are available at a non-discounted rate.
Message MyPT to discuss your treatment plan and available packages!
MyPT accepts payment from HSA and FSA accounts, Cash, Credit Cards, Venmo or Paypal.
Patients also have the option to submit receipts to their insurance company. Receipts with treatment codes and documentation will be provided upon the request of the patient.
